Intensive Care Unit

The intensive care unit (ICU) at Mountain West Medical Center provides continuous monitoring and treatment of critically ill patients. In the four-bed unit, hospitalists and nurses are able to give individualized care and attention to each patient.

Hospitalists are physicians who exclusively care for hospitalized patients. They are located in the hospital and will manage and coordinate all aspects of your hospital stay at Mountain West Medical Center, from admission to discharge. Hospitalists will work closely with your primary care physician and any consulting physicians involved in your care.

TeleICU with the University of Utah

As part of Mountain West Medical Center’s (MWMC) commitment to offer quality health care close to home, MWMC has partnered with University of Utah Health (U of U Health) to provide TeleICU for patients in the Intensive Care Unit.

The telehealth technology allows hospitalists at MWMC to instantly communicate with U of U Health specialists to discuss the patient’s condition and determine the best course of treatment. This technology also allows providers at U of U Health to see MWMC patients through video conferencing technology so that patients receive the highest level of care.
