Laboratory Services

The Mountain West Medical Center laboratory is a full-service, Joint Commission-accredited laboratory operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Pathology services are provided for patients whose physicians request examination of tissue removed as the result of a surgical procedure. A pathologist examines these samples for cellular changes and reports back to the ordering physician with results.

Tests done in the lab enable us to confirm a clinical impression, establish a diagnosis, monitor therapy, determine a prognosis and screen for disease. We also offer a full-service acute-care blood bank.
